Summary: The first specimen was found in
Băile Herculane (Hercules Bath) area (07.15.1952) by
N. Săvulescu and published by Serafim & Ruicănescu
(1995) as a new species from the Romanian fauna. No
other specimen was known.

Popa
Şapcă, nr. 8, 200000 Craiova
article no.:
Entomologica romanica 11:
55-68, 2006
Summary: The„ Ion Firu” entomological
collection comprises 6.781 specimens. It was
purchased by the museum in the years: 1982 (6.000
specimens) and 1990 (781 specimens). It conserves
species belonging to 16 orders of insects. Order
Lepidoptera is represented by 1.357 specimens, which
completes the number of the species of Lepidoptera
in the entomological patrimony of the museum of
Oltenia, Craiova, formed as a result of the
researching activity of specialists, acqusitions („Mihai
Peiu” collection - Chimişliu, 1989) and donations
(„I. Stănoiu” collection - Chimişliu & Goga , 2005).
The analysed material in the present paper (1.172
individuals) was collected in the period of the
years (1951-1982) from 43 sites of collecting in 12
counties of the country şi 2 sites situated abroad:
Cote D’Azur (France) and Prague (Czech Republic).
243 species were identified belonging to 182 genera
included in 57 subfamilies, 15 families and 7
superfamilies. Family Noctuidae is the best
represented (60 genera, 91 species), followed by the
families: Geometridae (37genera, 41 species),
Nymphalidae (18 genera, 25 species), Arctiidae (11
genera, 15 species), Sphingidae (9 genera, 11
species). The collection keeps both common species
and species with different endangered degrees from
the following recomendated categorioes by IUCN: CR,
EN, VU, NT (Rákosy, 2003), as well as species
included in the Red List of the Lepidoptera in
Europe and in the Law no 345/2006 (Anexes: 3, and 4A).

Addenda et corrigenda la Catalogul Lepidopterelor
României

Department Taxonomy and Ecology, Str. Clinicilor

article no.:
Entomologica romanica 11:
69-79, 2006
Randbemerkung: Die Artennumerierung entspricht
dem des Verzeichnis der Schmetterlinge Rumäniens (Rákosy
et al. 2003). Die in Klammen gesetzten Zahlen
entsprechen der taxonomischen Stellung des Werkes
„The Lepidoptera of Europe. A Distributional
Checklist” (Karsholt & Razowski 1996).
Rezumat: În Catalogul lepidopterelor României (Rákosy
et al. 2003) sunt înregistrate 3960 de specii,
altele 144 fiind excluse din fauna ţării. Cum era de
aşteptat, Catalogul Lepidopterelor României a
stimulat şi impulsionat cercetarea faunistică
referitor la acest grup. După patru ani de la
publicarea catalogului, suntem în măsură să publicăm
prima completare, cu numeroase semnalări noi şi
corecturi. Numărul speciilor de lepidoptere din
România, creşte astfel, de la 3960 la 4008.
Notă: Numerotarea
corespunde poziţiei din Catalogul lepidopterelor
României (Rákosy et al. 2003), în paranteză este
precizată poziţia taxonilor în Catalogul
lepidopterelor Europene (Karsholt & Razowski 1996).

Kleptoparasitism, a very unusual relationship between
a spider, its bee prey and some clever, opportunistic
flies
Valeriu Albu1

E. Sweetbriar Dr. Fresno, CA 93720
article no.:
Entomologica romanica 11:
87-88, 2006
Summary: The paper presents a field
observation of kleptoparasitic behavior of a fly
species, with multiple individuals congregating on a
bee caught by a crab spider. This event was observed
several times, in different places, around the city
of Brasov, Romania, always in cool and wet weather.
A few brief notes from the literature are presented
as to some possible chemical mechanisms of this
behavior.

behavior, insect feeding strategies.
